BALTER Beer joins the Embassy XO Cellar
A beer made by surfers, for people who love beer! The story of BALTER Beer could not be any more suited to the Sunshine Coast with its laid back, surf village beginnings – and you can find this exciting blend in our XO Cellars.
Four pro surfers, one surf brand marketing genius, and a master brewer who loves creating beers that will knock your taste buds off.
Surfers Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, Josh Kerr and Bede Durbidge are the four men behind the Gold Coast-based craft brewery, and the idea came about from Durbidge while he recovered in hospital after a surfing accident.
The time spent in rehabilitation gave him the inspiration to follow his lifelong dream of opening a brewery, and his friends were only too happy to join the adventure.
Joining them, and the man behind the beers, is trophy-winning brewer Scotty Hargrave, who used to brew beers at the Byron Bay’s Stone and Wood and Byron Bay Brewing Company.
Balter’s first beer is an XPA (Extra Pale Ale), which Head Brewer Scott Hargrave describes as “punchy, tropical, with floral aromatics intertwining like you and her on a daybed, a broad fruity palette, and a crisp clean finish that’s sprung like a sports car.”
It’s second release is an Alt Brown, and more beers are in the works and set for release – and we can’t wait to also offer any future beers to our XO Cellars in Noosa Junction and Sunshine Beach.
