EXPLORE THE LIST
Join us for an exciting new wine event with our in-house sommelier Toby. Each month we will be hosting a wine education evening, and the first event is an exploration of the Embassy XO Wine List.
Join us in the bar as we sample four sets of wine, with a bite of something delicious to complement. There will also be special deals on the evening for anyone who wishes to take some wine home with them.
Tickets are very limited to this event, and bookings are essential.
Date: Wednesday, April 3
Time: 6.30pm sharp
NV Quartz Reef Méthode Traditionnelle Brut Central Otago, New Zealand (organic)
A sparkling wine exuding elegance and finesse. Pale yellow with a bouquet of green apple and hints of lime and brioche. On the palate, this is flirtatious and moreish. Enhanced by an invigorating cool, creamy acidity. Focused, cool and crisp with beautiful balance and length.
NV Jansz Tasmania Sparkling Rosé, Pipers Brook, Tasmania
Pale colour resembling rose petals or Argyle pink diamonds. Alluring and expressive, the nose is redolent with aromas of fresh strawberries and quince blossom, overlaid with complex notes of rose water, truffles and fresh brioche.
2018 Auntsfield ‘Single Vineyard’, Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, N.Z.
Seductive and alluring bouquet of SB with softer fruit spice layers woven between suggestions of lemon and sweet grapefruit, apple, mineral and fresh lychee. Crisp, dry, packed with flavour and texture
2018 Golden Child ‘Island Life’ Fume Blanc, Adelaide Hills, S.A
Made from hand-picked Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc, this fume blanc is crisp and textural, with zingy citrus and spicy stone-fruit flavours. It’s perfect drinking- with food, or without!
2018 Schwarz Wine Co, Grenache + Mataro Rosé, Barossa Valley, S.A.
Attractive perfume, spicy and floral, red fruits and a subtle earthiness. Powdery and pretty, blood orange and strawberry, spicy and fresh to close. Gentle, but persuasive charm. Beauty.
2017 Le Grand Cros L’Esprit Cotes de Provence Rosé, Provence, France
Palest pink gold. Excellent floral and red fruit concentration on the nose, with loads of concentration and weight on the palate, finished with a lovely leafy tone. This is excellent – really crams the fruit in without losing freshness, and has alluringly smooth texture. Superb!
2017 Luke Lambert ‘Crudo’ Shiraz, Yarra Valley, VIC
Juicy, luscious and generously flavoured, this modern expression of a more elegant, savoury and shiraz delivers a bright, pastille-like presence of dark cherries, plums and dark berries backed by a fine texture and finishing with a faint meatiness.
2014 Domaine Clarendon Syrah, Clarendon Hills, S.A.
The 2014 Domaine Clarendon Syrah features aromas of thyme, bay leaf, blueberries and cracked pepper. It’s full-bodied but fine and elegant, with a long, silky finish. It should drink well for a decade or more.
